Wedding Catering

At Field Food, food is never just food. It’s part of the rhythm of your day — a little indulgence, a shared joy, and one of the best ways to bring people together. Our wedding menus are led by the seasons, local produce, and a love of keeping things beautifully simple. We start with what’s growing nearby and tasting its absolute best, then build generous, honest dishes that feel vibrant and full of life.

From generous sharing platters and long tables under open skies, to candlelit dinners in barns and delicate canapés enjoyed outdoors, our food is always made for sharing, celebrating and lingering a little longer.

We believe the best wedding food isn’t about doing more — it’s about caring more. We work closely with local farmers and growers who share our respect for the land, choosing ingredients that are raised and grown with real integrity. Vegetables come straight from the fields around our kitchen, meat from farms we know and trust — so every plate tells the story of where it came from.

We’re drawn to smaller, thoughtfully planned weddings, taking on a limited number each year so every menu gets our full attention.

Wedding Catering FAQs

How do we start planning with you?

Please start by telling us a little about your day using our enquiry form. It’s helpful to include your guest numbers, the date and location, and any ideas you already have for food and drinks – this gives us a good sense of what you’re looking for. From there, we can share our sample menu with you and we’ll have a chat to talk through your plans, answer any questions, and see if we’re the right fit.

What areas do you cover?

We usually work across Sussex and at our partner venues in Lewes, Pulborough and Hawkhurst, where we take on a limited number of weddings each year. While we don’t often travel further afield, we’ll sometimes make an exception for a wedding that really inspires us – usually when the venue feels connected to nature and the day is centred around food and ideas that really excite us.

What's your approach to food?

We love creating food that brings people together. Most of our weddings feature family-style dishes and sharing platters, which feel generous, relaxed and exciting. We also create canapés, buffet-style dishes, or other styles if it fits your day – but fine dining isn’t really our thing. Our focus is always on making food that tastes amazing, looks beautiful, and feels effortless, so you and your guests can relax and enjoy the celebration.

Do we get to taste the menu beforehand?

Of course! Once we’ve spent some time chatting about your day and ideas for your menu, we will invite you to our kitchen studio for a wedding tasting. It’s a relaxed chance to sample a variety of dishes and chat in more detail about your plans for the day. Tastings are a paid part of the process, which allows us to dedicate the time and care needed to make it really special.

Do you provide staff and service on the day?

Our team will be there on the day to look after the food, so you and your guests can relax and enjoy the meal.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Absolutely. We regularly cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy-sensitive diets. These dishes are given the same care and creativity as the rest of the menu, so every guest feels just as considered.

Please note that we use all 14 of the major allergens in our kitchen and whilst we take the utmost care when preparing food for allergen-sensitive diets we can’t guarantee that our food will be 100% free from cross-contamination.

Can you provide evening food?

Yes! We can create relaxed evening food that keeps the party going after your main wedding meal. This could be anything from sharing platters and cheese boards to hearty bowl food, all of which feels thoughtful and connected to your main feast. We love keeping it simple, seasonal and full of flavour – perfect for celebrating with your guests long into the evening.
